Spore Productions Supplies Fun Stuff to Claire's Boutiques

Spore's Famous Cubes Game is Re-branded for Claires.com

TORONTO, CANADA. - January 5, 2003 - Spore Productions is pleased to announce that it has licensed a re-branded version of its famous Cubes game to CBI Distributing inc. (formerly Claire's Boutiques) of Illinois. The game, re-branded and re-named as 'Claire's Cubes', can be found in the Fun Stuff section of Claires.com.

The rules of the game are simple: You have a screen-full of colored cubes, stacked in ten rows of ten. By clicking any cube, all cubes of that color that are adjacent to each other, will disappear. Then any remaining cubes above will fall down to fill the gaps. Players must clear out as many of the cubes as possible, with the ultimate goal being to clear the entire screen. It's much more difficult than it first seems.

The original incarnation of the Cubes game was first released in the spring of 2000 as 'BlockBreaker' on Compuserve (an AOL/Time-Warner company), and later in the summer as 'Spore Cubes'. It was an immediate success and gained an infamous reputation for its instantly addictive fun factor. In no time, the concept inspired many other similar web-games. 'BlockBreaker' is now also available on Netscape.com.

"We are very pleased with the fun and joy this game has brought to players the world over," said René Boutin, Spore Productions' Supreme Leader. "Our philosophy has always been, fun and simplicity. We want people of every age to enjoy our games, with as short a learning curve as possible."

Spore Cubes is available for play on SporeProductions.com and Spore's own web-game site, LilGames.com. The Claire's Boutiques version can be found at Claires.com.
